mini Illamasqua haul from ASOS and swatches

I bought some Illamasqua stuff on ASOS recently. The main reason was because they were on discount (~30% off or more) and it was just too tempting, especially with free shipping thrown in. It was also a good chance to get items that I wouldn't normally buy, like the liquid metal. So far, I've only ordered clothes from ASOS and these come in big plastic bag types of packaging like below.

I wasn't sure how they'd package makeup since it was my first time getting makeup from ASOS. I was scared the eye shadow would reach me in pieces. And so, in that same order, I bought a dress, thinking that if everything was shipped together, at least, the dress would help to protect the makeup and act as cushioning against shocks. Well in the end, this is what I received. A small box with air packs (what are these called?) to fill up the empty space, which is also how Benefit packages their stuff sometimes. The dress, which I received a few days later, was mailed separately.

So what's in the box?

Liquid metal in Superior (metallic sapphire)

UP £17.50 - on sale £11.03

Powder Eye Shadow in Preen (rich royal purple)

UP £15.50 - on sale £7.88

Precision Ink in Alchemy (antique gold)

UP £17.00 - on sale £10.35

Sheer Lipgloss in Electrify (iridescent baby pink)

UP £13 - on sale £9.10

ASOS hauls (clothes, shoes, accessories)

Just wanted to share some stuff that I bought from ASOS recently. The stuff below consists of two separate orders, one made around end Nov and one just before Christmas. The latter just got delivered yesterday, with a shipping time of around 2 weeks.

This is from my first ever ASOS order, my virgin haul if you'd have it. I think they were having free worldwide shipping around that time, so I decided to take the plunge and try. Size-wise, I wasn't too sure either, but decided to order from the petite range instead of the regular range to test waters. I have some tees at home from Topshop (making reference to the UK sizes) that are getting tight, so I decided to order one size above. I'm glad to say that the clothes fit nicely (meaning not too tight nor too baggy!) once I tried them on.

So here are pics of what I bought on my first haul. Don't mind the descriptions, they're taken from ASOS website. But wow, you do learn a lot of new terms to describe clothes. The pics are also from ASOS, credits go to them.

ASOS Petite Piped Bell Sleeve Dress in Navy - Featuring a button down placket and pleated design, with a gathered tie waist, round neckline and mid-length bell sleeves. This arrived just in time for me to wear to a wedding lunch.

ASOS Petite Cute Peter Pan Collar Dress in Grey - Featuring Peter Pan collar, cinched waist and pleated short skirt. This is the "Rust" version in the pic. I got mine in Grey cos I didn't fancy anything too bright. Wore this out for Christmas lunch and it got kinda tight at the waist. Haha!

Here's how the grey version looks like.

ASOS Petite Three Quarter Sleeve Tab Shoulder Longline Shirt in White - Longline stretch cotton shirt featuring button-through front with empire line seam. Have not worn this yet, but I loved it when I tried it on. Fits me perfectly at the shoulders.

I also bought 2 accessory pieces, Open Angel Wing Stud Earrings and a Long Dragonfly Necklace.

End of haul#1 and start of haul#2.

The free worldwide shipping promo has ended and now there's a fixed shipping promo based on country. Standard delivery to Singapore within 11 days costs £5. I wanted to haul on some shoes. Again didn't quite know what size to order and went to refer to some New Look sandals that I have which has a UK size. Verdict: perfect match!

ASOS Luna Glitter Toecap Ballerina - It's cute right? But grrr the glitter does fall off. I know there's a lot of them on the shoes, but I can't help wondering if the shoes will spoil first before all the glitter falls off.

Park Lane Studded Flat Sandal - Already love this pair to bits. I believe this is going for 50% off right now.

And I also threw in this ASOS Layered Sleeve Blouse in Navy cos only the navy one is on sale (50% off as well).

That's the end of my first and second ASOS hauls, and it's probably not gonna end there. I think ASOS is a great website to shop on. I don't know what took me so long. I guess the falling exchange rate has helped me make my first step.
