I was in Watsons today, browsing around and checking out what was on sale. I was tempted to get a few things, but I put them back on the shelves after deciding that I didn't really need them at this point, e.g, much raved about Silky Girl lash prism mascara at 20% off - making it less than S$9! But there was something else that was even more tempting to me cos I've been using quite a lot of it lately: 2 Sally Hansen polish remover bottles going for S$8 only, which means savings of S$4 off the usual retail price for two (one bottle usually retails for S$6), and savings of S$1.60 even if it was on sale at S$4.80 each at 20% off. I walked around the aisles deciding if I should get a set or two, thinking about whether this was really a good deal or not. But guess what? I put it back!! Why you ask? Let's just say that usually I don't think this much when I know that I'm saving by buying (what?!), but lately I've been rethinking my spending pattern. So..I decided not to get it today.....but I might change my mind tomorrow. Cos the more I'm gonna think about it, the more I'll get obsessed and the more I'll think that I want it and need it. That's how it goes in this little brain of mine.

All this wandering around was useful(?), fruitful(?), informative(?) about the price of other nail polish removers available in the store. Price applies for all formulas for that brand, unless otherwise stated.

• Manicare extra gentle with Vitamin E, non-acetone (pink bottle): 60ml for S$3.50, 125ml for $5.25
• Manicare tea tree oil with Vitamin E, acetone (green bottle) : 60ml for S$4.50, 125ml for $5.25

Not sure if all the prices are accurate, I would believe that I was sober enough at that point to be noting down the correct prices. Please forgive any price mixups which could have resulted from not paying enough attention to the display tags.

Anyway, after some makeup math, I now totally think that the set of 2 for S$8 is pretty worth it. The cheapest though would be Beauty Formulas, then Sally Hansen 2 bots for S$8, followed by Sylvie in third place. If you want another cheap alternative, you could try the Daiso one: 100ml for S$2.

Now I wonder why Manicare is so pricey.

Do you buy nail polish remover based on formula, ingredients, brand etc? Or solely based on price since the main purpose of polish removers is to remove nail polish and if a cheap one can do the same job as an expensive one, why not just get a cheap one?

Ok well, I haven't stepped in a Watsons or Guardian for a very very long time. You know..to avoid the temptation of grabbing stuff that I don't need? So erm..I'm kinda lost on what's new on the shelves and all. Anyways, I'm gonna try to get a list together before I get too lazy to do this tag. And well I believe not all products mentioned here are locally available.

First up, Gransenbon Granblush blushes. They are sooo pretty OMG. I own 5 of these currently, four bought at full retail price (SGD29.90) at Watsons and one is "second-hand" acquired from a beauty community at a discounted price. The shades I have are: 04 Orange Brown, 09 Apricot Ginger, 11 Sugar Marmalade, 12 Peach Rose, 13 Cherry Fromage. The only reason I don't own ALL of them (despite my love for these blushes) is the price. I wanted to faint at the total cost of buying them all. So I only chose 4 to buy (#04, #11, #12, #13) the first time round, and was lucky to score one more at a cheaper price. When they were first launched, they used to have a very prominent stand with testers and all, but now that the hype has died down, they occupy a small space on the Watsons shelves in the kawaii corner. Whenever I step into the Watsons near my place, I go and see whether they are still around. Haha. And always always hoping they'd be on sale or something, but it has never happened til now. So yeah, still hoping to get more of these before they're discontinued or something.

Next up, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color. I have not tried this but I'm sold on the description alone. One Stroke! One Coat! Done! Dries in 60 seconds! Does it really live up to it? Plus they come in pretty funky colours too with cute names like Mauve It, Grape Going!, Night Flight, Jumpin' Jade, Uptempo Plum..you get the idea. ANd while we're still at Sally Hansen, I also wanna give Dry Kwik a try after reading Kas's review on it.

I have yet to try any drugstore foundations. Not like I'm a snob when it comes to foundations or anything, but would you believe that I've never really worn foundation til I was 26 years old? And that was only because I was getting married and I went to MAC and got my first Studio Perfect Foundation compact. So yeah, I just jumped right into MAC like that with no prior dabbling in L'Oreal or Revlon or Maybelline. I only started liking makeup like 1 year ago? No kidding. So yeah I'd like to try that sometime. Revlon's PhotoReady foundation looks pretty good. And if only I knew my shade for True Match or ZA or something. I'm just scared to buy it by myself. It's like I need someone next to me to tell me, yeah this is the shade you should get, cos I have trouble judging by myself. Haha.

Ooh Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiner. Been seeing reviews on these and boy do the shades look good. The application is reported to be great, and for the price (USD10.95) it looks totally worth it to have 3 different shades. Read nymphette's and Beautopia's reviews and you will know. There are three custom shades to enhance your eye colour (but doesn't mean you have to restrict yourself to buying the brown stack if your eyes are naturally brown/dark brown, you can also get the hazel, green or the blue stacks as well. The more the merrier right?). Long-wearing, water-resistant and smudge-resistant. Hey I'm sold. The design of stackable pots also make it convenient to detach them for individual use, or to mix and match them on the go.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer...just because it's from Neutrogena and it looks promising. I'm kinda attracted to Neutrogena products. Must be those dermatologist-approved vibes I get from their products. Haha.

So that concludes my drugstore wishlist. I'm sure there's plenty more, just can't think of them right now.
