I finally got my hands on some OCC lip tars and because I didn't wanna invest in a full tube, I bought samples instead (all thanks to Michelle who had the brilliant idea of selling samples). That's why they're all packed in jars instead of the normal tube packaging.
Lip tars cost USD12.50 for 8ml. It seemed a bit pricey to me because I, for one, am not really a lip person (as in i seldom wear lipstick or lipgloss) and didn't foresee myself using up a whole tube, as you only need a smidge of the product to cover your lips. Buying samples also allowed me to choose a variety of colours to try out. There are so many to choose from, and I guess you can say that I chose all the safe-to-wear colours.
The downside of having them in a jar is that you kinda waste some of the product because it runs into the grooves of the screw-top jar (it went all topsy-turvy in the mail), and also the exposure to air every time you open and close the jars. And oh yeah, contamination if you're gonna be dipping your finger in.
I've worn Pageant out for two days in a row. The one comment I had thrown at me was "Woah your lips are very bright!". LOL. It is indeed one of the boldest colours from the range that I have. Grandma also looks kinda bright. I'll have to try them all out soon. Who knows, I might become a real convert and start buying them full-size?
And ooh did I mention the peppermint smell? I love it. Surprisingly I didn't feel the tingle on my lips. Maybe it's because I put on lip balm before applying the lip tar because I'm scared it'll be too drying.
So here are swatches of the colours that I have. Hope you'll find them useful. :) Enjoy!
