Belated Birthday celebration with friends

Yesterday night was a good night, filled with great company, food and makeup goodies. A big thank you to Sophia, Kim, Amy, Jerlaine and Kas for the presents and the awesome cake, and also to Gwen who came to meet us too.

Dinner was at Everything with Fries (EwF) at Orchard Central. We each had a Har Jeong Kai burger meal with either sour cream and onion fries and garlic fries. The serving is pretty generous for a $9.90 meal and I personally couldn't finish this.

(Most pics below taken with my iPhone3GS)

The birthday cake! The girls had lighted a candle and were waiting to surprise me with this yummy looking chocolate cake on the table while I was away in the washroom. This cake is from Awfully Chocolate which, as it turns out, are the same people behind EwF.

The presents! Urban Decay Mariposa palette and fresh Brown Sugar edp. I am so happy with my gifts. Been lemming for both and now I can strike them off my wishlist.

That was not all. More goodies were exchanged and passed around. Everytime we meet it's like Christmas.

Benefit velvet eyeshadows from Jerlaine's mini spree. I chose a couple of neutral shades in Fawn Over Me and Tickled Mink.

Beauty.com F&F 20% sale spree items from Gwen. I got a large Z-palette after I filled my first one with Inglot eyeshadow pans, and also bought the Cargo Safari collection that Kim recommended to me. It comes with a full-sized blush in Coral Beach, an eyeshadow duo in gold and olive green shades, an eye pencil in khaki, a lip gloss in Serengeti and a mascara. Not bad for USD34 when a blush by itself costs USD28. Comes in a cute little pouch.

My first Cargo blush:

After dinner, we trooped to Lush which had just opened at Wisma Atria. It's just like a candy store. Everything looks so yummy and smells good. I didn't buy anything there and then, but I'm sure I'll be back to check out the store soon.

Last stop for the day was Sephora and I walked out with 2 tokidoki palettes.

birthday pressies!!

Ok so I have received presents from a few friends and colleagues.

First up, Illuminate Fantasy Collection from Beauté de Kosé Esprique Precious from my boss on Monday.

The set consists of a nail polish, glossy eye whatever (lots of glitter), face colour and brush, and lipgloss. The compact case is rather pretty and has a mirror inside.

Then this Sephora box today from my other colleagues.

Peek-a-boo...Oohh..out came a lovely scent...VS Berry Kiss hydrating body lotion

Ta-Daaa..and the rest of the treasure box revealed:

- Sephora blush in meringue jalouse

- MAC e/s in Ricepaper

- Sephora waterproof flashy liner in black

- Sephora waterproof khol and liner in keep blue

- MAC eye khol in Smolder

Lots of pencil liners huh? I like my pencils as much as my blushes, though now I'm somewhat gravitating towards eye shadows.

I should do a post on my collection of pencils soon yes?

hmm..also in the mail today 2 items that i bought online. Essence of Beauty crease duo brushes and MAC mineralize blush in Pleasantry.

And an email from CLEO informing me that I won a Veet hamper. I love winning prizes and this is almost like a birthday present too. This is the fifth hamper I've won from CLEO mag this year alone. Well worth my subscription. *grin*

JL expo sale haul + birthday whatever

My birthday was rather uneventful. Went to work as usual. My boss wished me happy birthday at the end of the day. Mostly that was it. I just know I'm getting a gift from my colleagues next week cos the one who went to buy it is on leave. Anyway, I had the choice of going for dinner at a fancy restaurant or going to expo with my hubby. Guess what we chose? Expo. Talk abt romantic. Lol. Well, he just wanted to check out some prices at Sitex and didn't buy anything. After which we went by the JL sale, but this time didn't leave empty-handed. Stocked up on some facial wash, moisturizers, toothbrush, etc. and some snacks, mostly chocolate..haha. I love Toggi! Sadly couldn't find the Maybelline Pore Zero base. The salesgirl told me that they're not selling it at the expo sale cos it's a new product. Either it was already OOS which there was no point lying abt, or she didn't know where it was stocked and was totally bluffing me. I know cos retail_therapy bought 2 tubes of these there.

***toiletries***

***snacks***

No birthday present from hubby either, he says i need to wait cos he didn't have time to buy one. But he did get me some cake and chocolate from Canele. The chocolate cake....simply AWESOME! Yumz!

Ended up the night by catching the sneak preview of NEW MOON. Jacob is so totally hot *swoon*. Have yet to read the next book Eclipse. It's been sitting at my bedside for a while.
