Who hasn't heard of magnetic polish by now? LCN has them, China Glaze has released their Magnetix collection this year and Color Club now has a Magnetic Force collection. They seem to be sprouting on the market just like crackle polish did before that.
Among more popular choices are nails inc magnetic polishes. I really wanted to try them out, but they were not easily available at the time (that was last year). Googling online only lead to websites that either had a high shipping charge (beautybay) or that would not ship to Singapore (like ASOS). Luckily beautybay recently had (and still has) free international shipping and I did not hesitate to order this. This order was also made before nails inc magnetic polishes became locally available at Watsons. Price-wise, I bought this for less than £10 (cheaper price than Watsons' price, but easily remedied by a storewide 20% off, just wait for it) and let me tell you that beautybay has of late increased their prices. Maybe to make up for the free international shipping.
Anyway, let's move on to the polish. Houses of Parliament is a metallic purple.

It was fairly easy to do. Apply base coat, apply one coat of magnetic polish (it seemed enough as it was quite opaque), place magnet over, count 10-20 seconds (not sure how long cos I didn't read their instructions) and ta-daa! You have a nice pattern over your nails. Let dry and apply with top coat for a glossy finish.
Turned out quite nicely for a first try. I can't say the same for the China Glaze ones. I will have to try them again.

Love the glassiness and 3D look of the magnetic ripples.
